Pave the Way For Opioid Change

Our Purpose

Many people struggle with managing opioid use for pain and with opioid use disorder (OUD). While recovery is achievable for any substance use disorder (SUD), too many people lack funding for their treatments or would benefit from treatments that are not accessible. To meet this challenge, Road Foundation works with clinics that practice medicated assisted treatment (MAT), and companies that create contingency contracts -- both proven to reduce the harmful impacts of OUD.

Mission & Vision

our mission

Road Foundation’s mission is to provide optimal linkages to organizations to ensure any person seeking treatment for pain management and/or opioid substance use disorder are not turned away due to inability to pay for treatment, not being covered by insurance, or detrimentally under-insured.

our Story

Road Foundation is a 501c3 non-for profit charitable organization established in June of 2019 to address the Opioid Epidemic in the US specifically targeting the west side of Chicago and western suburbs.

Road Foundation partners with medical practices and contingency contract companies that work together, as well as various insurance companies. All donations or money raised by Road Foundation is used to pay these companies to provide services such as visits, prescriptions and support of contingency contracts for those who qualify.

Our Vision

Road Foundation envisions a future in which individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder will be able to gain access to services regardless of the ability to pay. And that, through sustained support, these individuals will be able to achieve and maintain a life of recovery based on community, family, professional care and well-constructed contingency contracts.

What Makes us different?

All evidence-based tools must be used to tackle the continuing opioid crisis. Though there have been recent settlements due to the over-prescription of opioids, the larger issue, the actual management and recovery of opioid use disorder, is still in dire need of wider action and new methods to accelerate recovery. Road Foundation is supporting a new method of managing SUD. Our organization is unique in promoting and financially supporting contingency contracts. Very few healthcare providers offer medicated assisted treatment together with contingency contracts for substance use disorder. Road Foundation seeks out such companies that are innovative in their treatment methods, and will continue to look for ways to push boundaries in order to provide better healing and recovery.

“Each of us has the right and the responsibility to assess the roads which lie ahead, and those over which we have traveled, and if the future road looms ominous or unpromising, and the roads back uninviting, then we need to gather our resolve and, carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road into another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that as well.”
